UCDC (User Centered Design Canvas) is an easy and effective tool which serves the user experience design process and gets inspired by Business Model Canvas. It is mostly based on user-centered approach and comprehensively analysed about users and business goals. Besides, UCDC can be used for many purposes, facilitating website design and developing business marketing strategies.
UCDC is divided into 9 fields, the User field was placed in the heart of model which proved that this canvas approaches to user-centered. In the left side, UCDC focuses on User and the right side is all about Business. After following the order of analysis steps, it summarizes the form into a sentence which called Unique Value Proposition
Contain the company name and short description about analyzed company, field, brand, product, etc.
Name the existing/potential users with description about character, habit or status of who may try services/products.
List out possible hypothesis about need, concern, problems that user may want to solve by the service/product feature.
Describe emotional drives or hidden drives that motivate user to consume service/product.
In case of using the service/product, address the possible anxieties that user may feel about.
Analyse the ways or hypothesis of the business to resolve user's problems
List all possible options which users could choose alternatives in this field
Include the features or characteristics which differentiate the business to other competitors
Form a brief or conclusion which summarizes the important information into 1-2 sentences and shape the business's promise to its users. It should be described in long-term to ensure the best experience for users
The user-centered design canvas is a simple framework that is worthy of in-depth study in order to combine user needs with business goals. By applying UCDC (organizing user and business information in one place), the designers will be equipped with a comprehensive look that can be taken into consideration in all product design aspects.
